Abd al-Rahman al-Jaziri (1360H)
ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Jazīrī (d. 1360 AH)
A distinguished Egyptian scholar, jurist, and teacher affiliated with al-Azhar. He is best known for his celebrated work al-Fiqh ʿalā al-Madhāhib al-Arbaʿah (“Islamic Jurisprudence According to the Four Schools”), which systematically compares the legal rulings of the Hanafi, Maliki, Shafiʿi, and Hanbali schools. His writings remain widely studied and serve as an important reference for comparative Islamic law.
