Mālik ibn Anas ibn Mālik ibn Abī ʿĀmir al-Aṣbaḥī (93–179 AH)

Founder of the Mālikī school of Islamic jurisprudence and one of the most revered scholars of Medina. He is the author of Al-Muwaṭṭaʾ, one of the earliest and most authentic collections of hadith and legal opinions. Mālik was known for his deep piety, strong adherence to the practices of the people of Medina, and his cautious approach to issuing religious rulings.
