The importance of the subject of tawḥīd (monotheism) becomes abundantly clear when one reflects upon the following fundamental realities:

Tawḥīd is the very purpose for which jinn and mankind were created.

Allah does not forgive those who die while associating partners with Him, whether in His Lordship (rubūbiyyah), His Names and Attributes (al-asmāʾ waṣ-ṣifāt), or His exclusive right to be worshipped (ulūhiyyah).

The majority of people do not truly believe in Allah without mixing their belief with shirk (polytheism)—a reality that Allah Himself informs us of in His Noble Book.
