Nullifiers of Islam

This work is a commentary on Nawāqiḍ al-Islām (The Nullifiers of Islam) by Imām Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb (raḥimahullāh). The treatise outlines ten major acts that nullify a person’s Islam. The term nawāqiḍ (nullifiers) comes from the Arabic naqḍ, meaning to undo or invalidate something previously established. These are actions that render one’s Islam void.

About the author:

Shaykh ʿAbdul-ʿAzīz bin ʿAbdillāh bin ʿAbdir-Raḥmān ar-Rājihī is a senior Saudi scholar, born in 1360 AH (1941 CE) in al-Bukayrīyah, Qasīm. He memorized the Qurʾān early, pursued Islamic studies locally, and later moved to Riyadh, where he graduated from the College of Sharīʿah at Imām Muḥammad ibn Saʿūd Islamic University. He currently serves as an associate professor in ʿAqīdah and Contemporary Beliefs.

Shaykh ar-Rājihī studied under several leading scholars of the Ummah, most notably Shaykh ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Bāz, with whom he remained for around 20 years, and whom he closely accompanied until his death. He also studied under
