Marriage holds a position of perpetual significance because of the central role it plays in human life. It is not surprising, therefore, that the scholars of Islam have discussed it extensively throughout the ages. Under the contemporary influence of non-Islamic cultures, however, misconceptions have crept into various areas of Islam—affecting marriage, divorce, and other family-related matters. Considering the needs of Muslims living in non-Islamic environments, and realizing that most Islamic writings on marriage are limited in scope, there exists a large gap that needs to be filled for the benefit of English-speaking Muslims.

This three-book series aims to address that gap by covering various aspects of marriage according to the authentic Sunnah: (1) The Quest for Love & Mercy: Regulations for Marriage & Wedding in Islam — discussing the importance and advantages of marriage, choosing a spouse, the courting process, the marriage contract, the wedding celebration, the walimah, and prohibited marriages, including a practical marriage contract procedure and sample certificate; (2) Closer than a Garment: Marital Intimacy According to the Pure Sunnah — discussing proper etiquettes of marital intimacy, prohibited acts, zina, and birth control, and answering many frequently asked questions regarding intimate relations; (3) The Fragile Vessels: Rights and Obligations Between the Spouses in Islam — discussing spousal rights and obligations, with brief biographies of the Mothers of the Believers, real-life examples from the Prophet’s (ﷺ) interactions with his wives, and a full discussion of the hadith of Umm Zar.
