Shaykh Sulaymān b. Ḥamdan (1397 H) writes in ad-Dur an-Nadīd:

“In every chapter (of this book) is a principle from the principles in which much benefit is found. The majority of those in his (the author’s) generation fell into major and minor shirk. They deemed their actions to be from the religion, and thus neither repented from them nor sought forgiveness from Allah. Therefore, the author wrote this book based on what he witnessed. The book then became a cure for those illnesses — namely minor and major shirk.”

The Grand Mufti, Shaykh ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. Bāz (1420 H) writes in ʿIyānat al-ʿUlamāʾ fī Kitāb at-Tawḥīd:

“I advise my brothers, the students of knowledge, to focus — alongside the Qur’an and the Sunnah — on the books of creed. They should memorize what they can from these works. They are the foundations of all sciences and a concise summary of what is in the Qur’an and Sunnah. An example of such books is The Book of at-Tawḥīd, authored by Shaykh al-Islām Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb, may Allah have mercy on him.”
