Contemporary Sciences & Achievements Are Accommodated in the Islamic Religion — Evidence from the Qurʾān
This book presents conclusive evidence that the religion of Islām—its sciences, practices, and teachings—is filled with goodness, mercy, guidance, righteousness, and reformation for all times and circumstances.
It demonstrates that the cosmic sciences and beneficial modern technologies are encompassed within the umbrella of religion, whose principles align harmoniously with them—contrary to the claims made by the ignorant or materialists. Every science that benefits religion and life, whether for individuals or communities, is considered an integral part of Islām. The religion of Islām has highlighted and directed attention to such beneficial sciences and all that is useful—until the Day of Resurrection.
Modern sciences, when not grounded in religion, can ultimately cause more harm than benefit. To grasp this reality, two essential requirements must be fulfilled:
-
Learning the teachings of the Qurʾān and the Sunnah—both generally and in detail.
-
Developing sound knowledge of scientific facts acknowledged by unprejudiced and rational minds.
Whoever attains a proper understanding of both will immediately recognize that everything beneficial and reformative is already embraced within the sciences, practices, and disciplines of Islām—so deeply that they become inseparable from one another. Any shortcomings, therefore, arise from neglecting one of the above requirements.
Ultimately, the foundational Sharīʿah principles must govern our understanding of secondary issues. It is a critical mistake to argue over secondary matters without deep knowledge of the primary sources. Such careless discourse only leads to doubts—doubts that affect only the ignorant—yet are often spread by the opinionated.
